Our second home...

These are my latest cupcakes. They are coconut lime and vegan to boot. The cake was better than the icing-but they sure look pretty.



We have sure enjoyed the sun. It has been fun to play out in the sun and not worry about the rain-Bridger has suffered sunburns-even after the sunscreen, but hey that's summer-right?!

And here's the second home. Not much on room, but it is paid for. We actually found this on clearance at wal-mart for $55. Wyatt LOVES his new house. He loves to make play food and talk on his play phone too. It has been fun to watch.

Oh-if only we could all fit and have our house paid for-Wyatt has a lot going for him-a home owner at two-kinda makes you proud!

Happy Fathers Day...

Today we decided to go for a drive. We are feeling much better, still contagious for a few days, but feeling better none-the-less. We ended up in Mountain Green, one of our favorite places. It was sooooooooo beautiful. We then decided to take the road over to Snow Basin and found a little trail there and went for a short walk. It was so beautiful and so peaceful. The lighting was AWESOME! We enjoyed ourselves very much. It was especially nice because we have been cooped up inside for almost 2 entire weeks. I snapped so many pictures-here are some of my favorites.

We are also so thankful for our fabulous fathers. I am especially thankful this year that my dad's health is so great. He underwent quite a bit and it is great to be able to see him doing so well. He is a great dad. Some of the greatest memories I have of my dad was when I got to go on business trips with him. We would always play this great game-he would have us all look out the back window and the first one that could find the cop car won! I guess you could say we were the radar detectors! I also thought that he could change the stoplight. Whenever we pulled up to a light he would point his gun fingers at it and make this sound and it would change. I thought he was the most magical person I knew. He would always take us for the best car rides. We did doughnuts and rounded the corners on two wheels. My dad isn't the best cook, but he does make a mean bowl of popcorn and great breakfast potatoes. WE LOVE YOU! As I think about Darin and how my kids look at him, I feel blessed that he is just as magical and fun as my dad was for me. My kids ADORE their dad. Thanks for the DDR party- you have quite the moves!! Happy Father's Day D-WE LOVE YOU TOO!

Updates...

Our two boys are feeling soooooo much better and we are hoping to very soon. Today they played outside and Bridger enjoyed having the entire pool to himself. I think a career in syncronized swimming may be in his future check out his sweet moves!

I loaded the pictures wrong yet again, but wanted to show you the next picture first. In the next picture you can see him just lying and feeling so yucky-fast-forward to today and how happy he is to be outside and enjoying himself.

I have not had to water the garden for such a long time that I was shocked when I rounded the corner just to find how much everything had actually grown. For the most part, everything has survived and is thriving-I can hardly wait until harvest!

Our creeping thyme in the back rocks is blooming. I look forward to this time of year as well. The rain has sure spoiled us this year. Everything is beautiful and green.

We are due to feel better in the next few days and then we will be able to buy the "I survived swine flu" shirts and wear them proudly. Thanks go out to my mom and dad who brought ice cream and pop when the kids were really needing a treat, to Janice who supplied us with hours of movies and yummy licorice, and our neighbors for the treats and chicken noodle soup. We have been living off the chicken noodle soup and feeling much better! Also thanks to all for checking in and all of the prayers. All in all, it has been nice to be forced together as a family. I even had oodles of time to write the primary program-it will be nice to cross that off my list of things I need to do. I am looking forward to being able to leave my house soon!

Quarantine...

Don't they say that things happen in threes? So, this week our refrigerator broke, two months out of warranty mind you, and the repair would have ended up costing us about 800.00, so we opted to buy a new refrigerator-you know one of those expenses you just end up having, not really planning for-aren't they the best. Then, after playing a full day with our neighbor, I got a call from his mom saying that he had tested positive for the swine flu. And you guessed it, Wyatt woke up this morning with a temper and just wanted to sit on the couch. Swine flu time-AUGH! Poor guy, he feels horrible. So when you hear about the pandemic flu crisis you can put a face to the statistics. He will be contagious for about seven days, so looks like we will be hanging inside for a wee while. Luckily, it seems like it is going to rain for the next week and so we will just be managing until it is over. Bridger hasn't shown any symptoms yet, but the incubation period is 1-5 days, pray for us! I am starting to feel a bit achy and Darin isn't feeling really hot either. The good news is that the swine flu is like the flu flu in that if you are relatively healthy, serious complications are unlikely. And if these things happen in threes, I can't wait to see what comes next NOT! This is how he has looked all day long-poor guy!

Flowers, Cupcakes and Soccer...

The best news in the world to me right now is that my peonies have bloomed!!! These are my VERY favorite flowers-I absolutely LOVE them...

And this is a rose and peonie bouquet-I only had a few peonies at this point so I had to improvise with the roses.

And this is the long wait for peonies-the roses smell great and the columbine is pretty, but let's be honest-they don't hold a candle to a peonie!

Darin is currently out of town on buisness in California. He gets home tonight and Bridger wanted to make him a treat-as you will soon see I have been in a cupcake frenzie as of late and I thought it would be fitting to post my cupcakes because they were inspired by, you guessed it my peonies!! (If you can't tell-I am a little obsessed!)

These are some cupcakes I made for our family get together on Sunday. Darin got to meet his step-sister for the first time so he wanted to have something special to take. I have been reading and getting into the cupcake frenzie and decided to try my hand at them. Here is a close up of the chocolate peanut-butter cupcakes.

And here is a close-up of the strawberry lemonade cupcakes. I can see what the whole frenzie is about they are very delightful.

Here's the tray-I over-filled the chocolate ones-but they were still yummy!

Here are the minis-I made chocolate with vanilla bean frosting-YUM YUM!

And Bridger is holding his new most prized possession-his soccer trophy-that was a very proud day for him. I didn't break the news that EVERYONE gets one, so if you see him, please don't ruin his high!!!
